This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our word puzzle game, whether through our website or our mobile application (iOS and Android), collectively referred to as the "Service."

When you use KeyRows, we collect the following information that you voluntarily provide:
- Username: You choose a username to identify yourself. This username is displayed publicly on leaderboards, in multiplayer matches, and to other players on your friends list.
- Security Question & Answer: Used solely for account recovery purposes. Your security answer is stored securely.
- Friends List: When you add friends by username, we store your friend connections to enable social features such as challenging friends to head-to-head matches.
1.2 Gameplay Data
- Game Scores & Statistics: Scores, win/loss records, and performance data from daily games, head-to-head matches, and async challenges
- Game History: Information about games played, words used, objectives completed, and match results
- Leaderboard Data: Your daily scores are displayed on public leaderboards visible to all players
- Multiplayer Data: When you play head-to-head or async challenges, your game data (scores, words played) is shared with your opponent
1.3 Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain technical information:
- Device type, operating system, and version
- Browser type and version (web version)
- IP address (used for security and abuse prevention)
- App usage data and interaction patterns
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the KeyRows game service across web and mobile platforms
- Display your scores on public daily leaderboards
- Enable multiplayer features including real-time head-to-head matches and async challenges
- Manage your friends list and social connections
- Facilitate account recovery through security questions
- Improve game functionality, performance, and user experience
- Analyze usage patterns to enhance our services
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and ensure security
3. Information Shared with Other Players
KeyRows is a social game. The following information is visible to other players:
- Public: Your username and daily leaderboard scores are visible to all players
- Friends: Players on your friends list can see your username, challenge you to matches, and view match results
- Opponents: In head-to-head and async challenge matches, your opponent can see your username, scores, and game performance for that match
4. Third-Party Services
4.1 Supabase
We use Supabase for database storage, authentication, and backend services. Your gameplay data and account information is stored securely on Supabase servers. Their privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.
4.2 Google AdSense (Web Version Only)
The web version of KeyRows uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history. The mobile app does not currently display advertisements.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database service with servers located in the United States. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information (username, security question, friends list) for as long as your account is active. Game scores and leaderboard data are retained to maintain historical records and statistics. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
7. Local Storage
KeyRows uses local storage on your device to remember your username, game preferences, and session data. This information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers except when submitting scores or participating in multiplayer features.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Opt out of personalized advertising on the web version
- Withdraw your consent at any time
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you additionally have the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to object to certain types of processing under the GDPR.

9. Children's Privacy
KeyRows is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete such information.
If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use this service.
